Reserve Now for Owners
Appreciation Weeks!

We’re doing it again! In response to the overwhelming popularity of last fall’s Owners Appreciation Weeks, we’ve decided to repeat the program – with a few twists. As before all owners are invited to join us during the month of September for a week of fun in the sunshine at greatly reduced rates. To show our appreciation, we’re planning a host of stimulating activities, including exercise classes, boat trips, barbecues and cocktail parties. We’ll also have our second annual photo contest and an exciting new adventure for participants (details to come).

Weekly rates for September 2005 only are as follows:

Studio - US $400
Junior Suite - US $475
One-Bedroom Suite - US $550
Two-Bedroom Suite - US $625

* Prices are for double occupancy per bedroom (a two-bedroom unit sleeps six). Children under 12 are free. St. Maarten government occupancy tax and surcharges are additional.

At these prices, there’s no way you can turn down the opportunity for an extra week of vacation! To reserve a unit during this limited-availability offer, please call our reservations department at 1-888-784-6688 by July 30, 2005. Because reservations are strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, make sure you call today – AND get your passport if you don’t have one (see below) – so you can be packing your bags in September!

New Passport Requirements

The United States government has adopted the “Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative” in order to better secure its borders as recommended by its Department of Homeland Security. Effective December 31, 2005, everyone (including children) traveling to the United States from St. Maarten and elsewhere in the Caribbean MUST have a valid passport to enter or re-enter the country.

While St. Maarten authorities currently allow U.S. visitors entry to the island by presenting an original birth certificate with raised seal, valid photo identification and a return airline ticket instead of a passport, such alternative documents will no longer be accepted as verification of identity and nationality for re-entry to the United States.

If you are a U.S. citizen planning a trip to our resort beginning December 31, 2005, or later and you do not have a passport – or if yours is lost, expired or needs amending because you’ve changed your name – you must apply for one. Processing can take up to eight weeks, so you’ll need to apply for your passport well in advance of your trip. Information on the new regulations and the process for obtaining, renewing or amending a passport can be found on the “Passports” section of the U.S. State Department’s travel website at www.travel.state.gov.

In addition, all U.S. citizens visiting the island of Saint Barthelemy (St. Barths) – direct from the States or as a day trip from St. Maarten or other islands – must present a valid passport as of July 1, 2005. The island of Anguilla already requires a passport for entry, and other Caribbean islands may implement similar requirements in the near future. We’d hate to see you miss out on our popular trips to nearby islands because you didn’t have the proper identification, so we encourage you to go ahead and obtain a valid passport as soon as possible so that you can travel the Caribbean worry-free in the future.

Beau Beau's a Success!

As Beau Beau’s at Oyster Bay Beach Resort celebrates six months in operation, the verdict is in: owners rate the bar restaurant a success!

The beachside attraction gets high points for drawing fun crowds many nights of the week. With revelers partying into the night on the sand, the Monday night cocktail parties and weekly beach barbecues have reached new heights. Our karaoke songfests with Beau Beau himself have been popular (although somehow the King manages to win every singing contest!).

The joint’s tasty meals have earned praise as well. Even as Beau Beau’s popular island shows fill the deck, there’s plenty of room to enjoy dinner with the ocean waves lapping up against the walls. Diners get a kick out of the new lobster tank – even though the critters keep “escaping” and landing on dinner plates!

On your next vacation here, be sure to pencil in at least one or two visits to this wonderful new addition to our resort.

VIP Program extended with DOUBLE REWARDS IN JULY & AUGUST

Response to our VIP Owners Referral Program has been so positive that we’ve extended the program through June 30, 2006. You now have another whole year to earn cash rewards for referring friends to our wonderful resort.

And as an extra incentive, reward amounts will be doubled throughout July and August! In case you’re unfamiliar with this well-received program, here’s a reminder on how it works. To be eligible, you must refer a VIP guest (not a current owner) who is either staying with you at our Resort, staying at another resort or has been referred by you as a prospective buyer. (Referrals of guests already staying at our Resort will not be recognized unless the guest has traveled to the Resort with you or is staying with you.) To qualify, VIP guests must be at least 28 years old, have an annual income of $50,000 or more and be sincerely interested in hearing more about becoming an Oyster Bay Beach Resort owner.

Referred VIP guests will be allowed to reserve an efficiency unit, depending on availability, for a one-week stay beginning Friday, Saturday or Sunday, with no upgrades available. Each referred guest will be asked to pay an incredibly low down payment of $475 upfront on his or her credit card and encouraged (but not required) to take a pleasant, no-pressure tour and sales presentation. The balance of the cost of a full week’s stay will
be charged ONLY if the guest decides NOT to complete the tour and sales presentation. Guests who do complete the tour and presentation — regardless of whether they choose to buy — will have enjoyed hundreds of dollars in savings on a terrific vacation, and hopefully they’ll decide they can’t wait to return!

When you refer a VIP guest who takes a full tour, you will earn $25 for the first guest, $50 for the second guest, $75 for the third guest, $100 for the fourth guest and $150 for the fifth guest — for a maximum of $400. And if any VIP guest referred by you purchases an interval within 30 days of taking a tour, you will earn up to an additional $400. During the months of July and August, these amounts will be doubled — $50 for the first guest, $100 for the second guest, $150 for the third guest, $200 for the fourth guest and $300 for the fifth guest — up to a maximum of $800! How can you lose?

The program is only available for owners in good standing who are current on all dues and payments, and some other restrictions may apply depending on where you live, so call our toll-free number at 866-297-6978 to get all of the details from our VIP Owners representative.

Don’t wait to get in on the rewards!

"Extreme Makeover - OBBR Edition"

Oyster Bay Beach Resort is getting a facelift!

We’ve appreciated the positive response to the renovations we’ve made since taking ownership and are committed to rejuvenating the resort’s look in order to make every inch of it match the quality you should expect from a five-star destination. To help us achieve that goal, we have hired Pamela Temples Design Group, an international firm specializing in timeshare design. The firm, which has worked on projects for companies such as Hilton, Marriott, Starwood and Hyatt, has won more American Resort Development Association awards than any other design firm.

We’ll be refurbishing the Junior Suites by making necessary repairs and installing new furniture, windows, drapes and bedspreads. According to preliminary designs, we will replace each white wicker loveseat with two cozy armchairs and hang colorful drapes with matching tiebacks on wooden rings and rods over the sliding glass doors. Televisions will be tucked into new armoires, and we will replace each suite’s wicker desk with a table and two chairs for in-room dining.

We’ll be also adding drapes, bedspreads and bedroom furnishings in the Marina Suites. And you’ll see a spectacular redesign in the lobby, which will feature a new lounger, straight-back chairs with ottomans, floor tile, fans and ceiling fixtures. With enhancements to the check-in desk and activities desk and beautiful new artwork displayed, we’re completely recreating the lobby in a palate of green, yellow, burnt orange and sky blue to capture the beauty of a stunning Caribbean sunset. With these changes, we hope you will feel even more strongly that Oyster Bay Beach Resort is your elegant home away from home!

Anticipated design elements for the redecoration project include seagrass wicker, stained birch veneers and solids with raffia insets, and upholstery
in rich greens and yellows.

Guests treated to performances from fellow owner, a world-famous musician

Oyster Bay Beach Resort owners and visitors were treated to a stellar performance when acclaimed musician Thijs van Leer – a new OBBR owner known throughout the world as the leader of the popular band Focus – teamed up with our very own Beau Beau, Calypso King of St. Maarten, for our tsunami benefit dinner.

The idea for the charitable dinner was developed by our in-house manager, Henny Ruckert, who met van Leer, one of the Netherlands’ most celebrated musicians, in Holland 25 years ago while organizing a benefit concert for athletes with disabilities. The two have been friends ever since.

A seasoned pianist and flutist at a young age, van Leer founded Focus in the late 1960s. The band became famous with records like “Sylvia,” “House of the King” and “Hocus Pocus,” a top-40 hit on the U.S. Billboard charts in 1973. His solo album, “Introspection,” became the best-selling record in Holland’s history. Among his many career highlights, van Leer includes such unforgettable experiences as playing with Carlos Santana and the Beach Boys and traveling to Rome to perform at the Vatican for Pope John Paul II.

But it was our very own resort that called van Leer and his wife and friends back for a second vacation in St. Maarten. They loved the resort and the island so much that they decided to become owners.

“St. Maarten is a wonderful destination, and the people are
very friendly,” says van Leer. “After visiting Oyster Bay Beach Resort, I fell in love with the island and this magnificent resort,
so my friends, Joop and Joke, and my wife and I decided to become owners. For sure, we will not exchange for other places!”

To thank St. Maarten for a wonderful vacation, van Leer recently performed with a group of local musicians in a free concert on the beach near the beautiful new boardwalk in Philipsburg. He promises to delight Oyster Bay Beach Resort owners when he returns to the resort, so keep your eyes out for him the next time you visit!
